I haven’t mentioned Haiti in this blog before, and with good reason, all that needs to be said has been said, Haiti needs help, even before the earthquake Haiti was plagued by poverty. Needless to say pretty much every charity jumped on the Haiti bandwagon immediately, helping out as best they could, and money is pouring in from all places.  Then comes this:

A remake of the “famous” We are the world” song written by Lionel Richie and Michael Jackson. Now, I sincerely hate most of these charity singles, it’s an abomination on the music industry. But this one took the fucking crown for being the most appalling and utterly disgusting piece of shit, ive seen and/or heard in my entire life, BAR NONE.

Let’s start with the obvious part, putting the late Michael Jackson in the video, clearly still profiteering on his death. Sure, it can be considered a nice gesture since he wrote the song, but come on, leave the guy/girl alone for crying out loud, and by the way, he’s been dead for a year now, leave it the fuck alone.

And, now, the part that made me lose it for real, the fucking rappers…….

Really? In the midst of most of our generations best vocalists(Make no mistake, I have respect for the better part of them) you are going to put Lil’ fuckin’ Wayne, and T-Pain the god damned autotune guy?  And the horrible rap part, I puked a little in my mouth, Not to mention it fucking sucked ASS, It had the most generic lyrics ever made.

We all need somebody that we can lean on
when you wake up look around and see that your dreams gone
when the earth quakes we’ll help you make it through the storm
when the floor breaks a magic carpet to stand on
we are the World united by love so strong
when the radio isn’t on you can hear the songs
a guided light on the dark road your walking on
a sign post to find the dreams you thought was gone
someone to help you move the obstacles you stumbled on
someone to help you rebuild after the rubble’s gone
we are the World connected by a common bond
Love the whole planet sing it along

Ultra-fucking-fail.

The only redeeming part of the whole thing was Wyclef Jean, a real Haitian, and I think I saw that Haitian guy from Heroes, not much of a pro to tip over the scale.

All of the money that was put into the making of the song and video could have easily been put into doing actual work in Haiti, sending in people who can help, but fuck that right? Let’s make an already horrible song into a fucking horrendous shitfuck of a video, put it up on YouTube, and get afuckton of views, and then maybe, MAYBE someone will give to the cause.

Today it has 12 million views on YouTube.

CONGRATU-FUCKING-LATIONS CUNTS!

Until next time, I’m the fucking insomniac.

Fireflies

My friends, sleep continues to elude me until the wee hours in the morning, at around 6 or 7 AM I can finally fall asleep if I am lucky, My little Zen mp3 player(because, fuck iPod) is my saving grace from the horrid silence in my dark room. I can’t stand it, my mind just wanders away, keeping me up all night, so I listen to music.

Now, I have many tracks on my player, but there is one in particular that really captures the mindset of being awake all through the night. It’s has become pretty mainstream but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Fireflies by Owl City, apart from being a very good tune one sentence in the lyrics really hits close to home, the part when he sings

“Why do I tire of counting sheeps, when I’m far too tired to fall asleep”

Really spot on in the lyrics department.  Do you like Owl City – Fireflies?

Until next time, I’m THE-GUY-WHO-CAN’T-FUCKING-SLEEP.

A friend of mine went ahead and wrote me a rhyme about poverty in a matter of minutes, this is the outcome:

Well, you are so correct, politically,
let us rhyme about racism, famine and poverty,
let us discuss violence, innocense and with on-point clarity,
or would it be too inane, would it not make me insane, for insanity, is what happens when my brain does not sustain,
the aforementioned theme is fiendishly plain, but let’s set in motion the rhymetrain:

It’s a problem, ignored by the ignorant,
shushed by the lord, seemingly insignificant,
but let us inform our neighboor,
one teach one is what I got in store,
let us talk about poverty and slave labor,
do not ignore the hidden agendas of war,
let them not hide behind the face of freedom and the war on terror,
read and learn from red litterature,
apply only the knowledge that is pure,
not the dirty televisionized information will only get you in a harder grip of the governments claw,
and I never gave in to some conspiracy theory,
if you got gory story, about how the american heroes died in glory, I’ll ignore you. This is my story, memento mori. Remember the dead.

Christmas time

It’s christmas time, and heres a treat for all of you.

Happy holidays!

Music is a big part of most people’s lives and It’s a very big part of mine. when I wake up, I put my playlist on, and until I go to bed, that music is playing most of the time But I have a slight problem, and that is defining myself in a specific genre, and I think most people have that problem too, I like the fact that I can remain open to all sorts of music genres, but the problem comes when someone asks me what sort of music I like, I can never come up with a straight answer, If I really have to be specific it’s a tie between indie singer/songwriter and house music, quite a difference right?

But I also like reggae, rock, trance, subgenres of house and techno, hardstyle, metal, acoustic, electronica, and I even like old school rap and hip hop from time to time, and the list goes on. I can never really define myself to a certain genre of music, It’s always something pushing me over to another side. If my music does define who I am, then what am I? Schizophrenic or open-minded?
What genre of music do you prefer, and do you think your music defines you? Leave a comment and let me know.

Vampires suck blood.

So, I am not really a hater of the Twilight Series(and I love vampires in general), but I have to say, the movies are quite boring, Sure, the depiction of the characters in terms of looks, was spot on for me, almost exactly like imagined when reading the books(yes, I read them). But the whole fangirl thing and the phenomenon Twilight has become is just plain ridiculous, it’s a mediocre flick AT BEST!  Now I have yet to see New Moon, but I can imagine, and from what I’ve heard it’s just as boring, I am however going to give it a chance, but one thing really bothers me, and it has for some time now.

In the meanwhile I’m going to let Carlyle from Spill.com explain how it is in his article on hollywood.com

You can find the whole article here, and here’s a sample:

People don’t hate Twilight because it is a successful film series made for women. They hate Twilight for the same reason they hate Paris Hilton: We find the exaltation of mediocrity to be abhorrent. The celebration of that which we find inferior is frustrating to people who believe they can do better. And while it is not always the case that your “grandmother can make a better movie than that,” watchingsubpar content receive nonstop media attention can take one from a state of detached indifference and incite them to a furious lather in which they want to tear down and destroy whatever the vacuous, hollow smiles in $300 haircuts are yammering incessantly about.

And right now, that’s Twilight. And Twilight is crap.

How have we come to like mediocrity, I mean, between T-Pain and all the autotune “artists”, Transformers and Twilight, I really don’t know if people know what true entertainment is anymore. It seems like our awareness is slowly fading away to make room for mediocre bullshit, entertainment is supposed to frighten you to the core, make you laugh out loud, make you want to never ever stop dancing. Now we are left with “hits” like “I’ve got a feeling by the Black Eyed Peas, with sucky lyrics and a decent “beat”, Movies like the ones mentioned before, comedians like Carrot Top and Larry the Cable Guy(ugh, somebody kill him, please!).

Not to say nothing good is being released and doing great nowadays, but it’s definitely not a majority,

It’s time for some quality control for fucks sake.

The cancerstick remake

It’s december, I’m in my dark unlit room, its 04.34 as I write this. In my bed with the pc and an unlit cigarette of the Camel brand in my mouth.

“Why is this unlit?”

I’m trying to figure out wether or not I have an addiction, My first cigarette in nearly a month. I don’t have money to buy a new pack, Don’t have the urge.

But damn does it taste good. The ligther flickers in the chilling wind of the open window, shielded with my blanket against the cold I light my cigarette. The smoke soothens my worrying mind.

Fleet Foxes – White Winter Hymnal is melodically playing in my headphones, next up is Iron & Wine, I quietly pray to whatever false god is out there that Spotify wont interrupt my playlist with commercials.  However alluring and comfortable the bed is, my mind will not rest, So I stay awake, pondering, wondering, where did you go………

Narwhals!

I just cant STOP listening to this song!
